The Lord Jesus Christ
Is My Shepherd
David declares that
often as he shall
be exposed to danger ,
he will have
sufficient defense and
protection in being under
the care of the Lord, his
Shepherd.
The Lord leads us into
the path of righteousness
and the Lord leads us
on in the path
of righteousness. The
Lord leads. The
believers simply trust in
the Lord and follows
his Lord.
The Lord has armed the
believers to resist
fears which attack the
believers.
The believers are not
devoid of fears.
We are to overcome fears
wherever the Lord our
Shepherd would lead us.
I shall fear no evil
David's remedy against
fear is to trust
the Lord with all
his mind, with all
his heart, with all his
soul, and with all his
strength.
The enemy waits for an
opportunity to kill in the
valley. It is but a shadow
of death for David. David
has well practiced the steps
that the Lord has taught him.
The Lord leads. And David
follows the Lord in the
path of righteousness for
the name sake of
the Lord.
The shadow of a sword
will not kill. The shadow
of a serpent will not sting.
Christ has defeated death,
when he died for us on
the cross. Christ has paid the
price of redeeming us with
his precious blood. And God
has raised Christ from the
dead. And death is defeated.
To the sheep of Christ ,
death is only a shadow.
Christ has already conquer the
enemy, death. Death can not
sting the believer. God will
rebuke the enemy.
The Lord will guide us
with His rod ,
and sustain us with
His staff,
And Saul tried to arm David
with his man-made armour,
and he put an helmet
of brass upon his head;
also he armed him
with a coat of mail.
And David girded his sword
upon his armour,
and he assayed to go;
for he had not
proved it.
And David said unto Saul,
I cannot go with these;
for I have not proved them.
And David put them off him.
(1Sam 17:29-32 )
Saul's heavy armour is
man made.
Man's plans of salvation
always fail.
The Man's way leads man's
destruction.
The Lord's way leads
to victory.
The Lord's way leads
to life.
Saul's armour does not
fit David.
David rejects the heavy
armour of Saul.
David follows the same
path that the
Lord has taught him
in the wilderness
while he was taking
care of the sheep.
David is Born again
The Lord restoreth my soul.
In all trouble , the Lord
defends David.
God sustains the believers
by His almighty power.
The Lord averts from the
believers whatever is hurtful.
David is satisfied with the
all sufficient care of
the Lord for the protection
of his life.
The Lord restores my soul.
David is born again.
Now David is filled with
the Spirit of God.
And he took his staff
in his hand, and chose
him five smooth stones
out of the brook, and
put them in a shepherd's
bag which he had,
even in a scrip; and
his sling was in his
hand:
and he drew near
to the Philistine.
(1Sam 17:40-41)
The Lord is my shepherd,
I lack nothing
David gives all his
heart to the Lord
Jesus Christ. David
trusts his Lord Jesus
Christ.
David expresses his
satisfaction in the
care of his Lord Jesus ,
the Good Shepherd of
the Universe,
the Redeemer, and Preserver
of man.
With joy, David reflects
that the Lord is his
Shepherd. David is confident
in God's grace and care.
He maketh me to lie down
in green pastures:
he leadeth me beside the
still waters.(Ps 23:2)
We are like sheep
feeding in the green
pastures, under the care
of the skillful, watchful, and
tender Shepherd of our souls.
A believer who by faith
tastes the green pasture
of goodness of God in
all of his enjoyments.
In his mind the believer
find quiet and contentment
in the Lord. The comfort
of the Holy Spirit are
the still waters by which
the believers are led.
Whosoever drinks of living
water of the Lord
shall not thirst.
It is a spiritual battle.
The devil wanted
to make the human soul
thirsty.
David fears no evil,
for the Lord is with him ;
The Lord is my shepherd.
Your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
The Lord is David's
Shepherd.
His rod and staff comforts
David.
Faith in the Lord is
needed for Moses and
the children
of Israel to cross the
Red Sea.Each person
is required to have faith
in the Lord.
The Lord separates the sea
for the believer one step
at a time.It requires
faith in the Lord to
cross the sea safely.
The Lord leads.
The believer follows the
Lord.
If a person goes ahead
of the Lord, he will
be washed away by
the fiery sea.
He will be lost because
he lacks faith. The
unbelievers tries to
work out his own
salvation in his own
human strength.The unbeliever
steps out of the protection
of the Lord. And the
unbeliever steps into the
devil's valley of death.
The unbeliever walk the
path into death.
Faith in the Lord
requires all your mind,
all your soul, all your
heart, and all your strength.
Peter sees Jesus walking
on the water and he
asks the Lord to
allow him to come
to Him.
Peter is walking on
water when he is focus
in the Lord.
When Peter takes his
eyes away from the Lord,
he starts sinking in
the violent sea of fear.
He has looked at the sea.
Fear enters in his
mind and his heart.
He fails to give
to the Lord ,all
his mind and all
his heart and all
his soul.And he
loses his strength.
The Lord leads.
And David follows.
David sees himself
as a sheep of the
Lord. David stands firm
in his position
as a sheep of the Lord.
In all David's mind
the Lord is his Shepherd .
In all David's heart,
the Lord is his Shepherd.
In all David's soul ,
the Lord is his
Shepherd.
He restoreth my soul
:
he leadeth me in
the path of righteousness for
his name's sake.(Psalm 23:3 ).
David understood that
man was born spiritually
dead because of Adam's
sin.
David understood that he
needed a Savior , who
is the Lord Jesus Christ.
How can it be that the
son of David will be the
Lord ?
God becomes man .And
the Savior is the
seed of David.
And the Lord restored David's
soul.
The Lord leads David in
the path of righteousness
for the sake of the
Lord Jesus Christ .
The sinner can never
be righteous with his
own works.
David`s righteousness is
the Lord Jesus Christ.
The righteous of Christ
is acceptable by God.
And David was born again.
In all David's strength the
Lord is his Shepherd.
In all his mind
David follows his the Lord,
his Shepherd.
In David's mind ,David
knows that he is
a human instrument for
the Lord Jesus Christ.
David's strength comes
from the Lord Jesus Christ.
The Lord protects David.
Then David is safe against
the the fiery darts of
the devil .
Put not your trust
in princes, nor in the
son of man,in whom
there is no help.
(Psalm 146:3)
It is better to trust
in the Lord than
to put confidence in
man.(Psalm 118:9)
David was not afraid
to face the giant.
The Lord is David's
Shepherd.The Lord
leads David in the
path of righteousness,
for His name's sake.
Yea, though I walk
through the valley of
the shadow of death, I will
fear no evil:
for thou art with me;
thy rod and thy staff
they comfort me.
...Death is swallowed up
in victory.
O death, where is thy sting?
O grave,
where is thy victory?
(1 Corinthians 15:54-55)
But thanks be to God,
which giveth us the
victory through
our Lord Jesus Christ.
Therefore, my beloved brethren,
be ye stedfast, unmoveable,
always abounding in the
work of the Lord,
forasmuch as ye know that
your labour
is not in vain
in the Lord.
(1 Corinthians 15:57-58)
Thou preparest a table
before me in the
presence of mine enemies:
thou anointest my head
with oil;
my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy
shall follow me
all the days of my life:
and I will dwell in
the house of
the LORD for ever.
(Ps 23:4-6)
For the disobedience folks
it is the real valley
of death.
Disobedience brings trembling
and fainting in the heart.
Thus Saul was afraid.
The Lord's faith is required to
escape the land of death.
For the believer ,death
is only a shadow.
And shadows can not
hurt the believer.
David is strong in
the Lord and in the
power of his might.
David puts on the
whole armour of God
so that he is able
to stand against the
wiles of the devil>
Finally, my brethren,
be strong in the Lord,
and in the power
of his might.
Put on the whole
armour of God,
that ye may be able
to stand against
the wiles of the devil.
For we wrestle not
against flesh and blood,
but against principalities,
against powers,
against the rulers of
the darkness of
this world, against spiritual
wickedness in
high places.
Wherefore take unto you
the whole armour of God,
that ye may be able to
withstand in the
evil day, and having
done all, to stand.
Stand therefore,
having your loins girt
about with truth, and
having on the breastplate
of righteousness;
And your feet shod with
the preparation of the
gospel of peace;
Above all, taking the
shield of faith,
wherewith ye shall be
able to quench all the
fiery darts of the wicked.
And take the helmet
of salvation, and the
sword of the Spirit,
which is the word of God:
Praying always with all
prayer and supplication
in the Spirit, and watching
thereunto with all
perseverance and supplication
for all saints;
(Eph 6:10-18)
And the Philistine came
on and drew near
unto David; and the man
that bare the shield
went before him.
And when the Philistine
looked about,
and saw David, he
disdained him:
for he was but a
youth, and ruddy,
and of a fair countenance.
(1Sam 17:41-42)
The giant is overconfident
in his ability
and his giant physical
features. He is
puffed up with pride.
And the Philistine said
unto David,
Am I a dog,
that thou comest to
me with staves?
And the Philistine cursed
David by his gods.
(1Sam 17:43 )
Satan is talking and
cursing through the
Philistine giant, and
he is addressing
to God.
The Lord , our Shepherd ,
sees the devil and
his idol-worshippers as
wild beasts
who tries to kills the
believers.
And the Philistine said
to David,
Come to me, and I will
give thy flesh unto
the fowls of the air,
and to the beasts
of the field.
( 1Sam 17:44 )
Come ? The devil wants
David to come out
of God's protection.
The Lord is the shield
for David.
There is no way for
the wicked giant to
harm David, when David
stays within the
protective boundary of
the Lord,
the Good Shepherd .
The Lord keeps a hedge
around David.
The devils can not enter
the protective area.
In the Book of Job,
we are told of a hedge
that the Lord places
around Job.
It is a spiritual
battle.
It is the same kind
of battle that Eve
engaged in, when she
was defeated by
the serpent
The devil first attacks
the mind of the
believer. Then the
devil attacks the heart
of the believer. Then
the devil attacks
the soul of the believer.
Eve did not stand firm
in the word of the Lord.
Eve did not give all her
mind to the Lord.
Eve was puffed up with
pride in her
thinking ability.
Eve made up her own
word as authority. Eve
has stepped out of the
hedge that protects her.
Eve has stepped out
of God's protection.
Now Eve did not give
all her heart to the
Lord.
Now Eve did not give
all her soul to the
Lord.
The fiery darts of the
devil enters in Eve's
mind.
The devil's fiery darts
enters in Eve's heart.
The devil's fiery darts
enters in Eve's soul.
Now Eve is no longer a
believer. Now Eve becomes
an unbeliever.
Then said David to the
Philistine,
Thou comest to me with
a sword,
and with a spear, and
with a shield:
but I come to thee in
the name of the
LORD of hosts, the God
of the armies of
Israel, whom thou hast
defied.(1Sam 17:45 )
Our Father who art
in heaven,
Hallowed be thy name,
Your kingdom come ,
your will be done on earth
as it is done in heaven.
Holy is the name of God.
The character
of God is holiness.
Praise God.
Hallow be thy name.
Holy is the name of
God.God almighty. Praise
the name of God.
Hallow be His name.
God reveals Himself
in His name.
Jehovah-Shalom. Jehovah is
peace(Judges 6:24).
Jehovah-Nissi. Jehovah
is my banner(Ex 17:15)
Jehovah-Tsidkenus. Jehovah
our righteousness(Jer 23:16)
God's name expresses the
eternal,essential,unchangeable
Being of Jehovah.
El Saddai is used for
the attributes of God.
The Lord Jesus Christ
is the Word.
In the beginning was
the Word.
The Lord Jesus is
called the Light
of the world.
The Lord Jesus is
called the Prince
of peace.
Jesus is called the
bread of life.
God's kingdom come.
God's will be done,as
in heaven as on earth.
Think of all the good
things about God.
And start praising God
Be thankful to God
for all His wonderful
gifts.
On earth the unbelievers
do not hallow
God's name. On earth
unbelievers do not
praise God's holy name.
On earth unbelievers do
not respect the
authority of God.
On earth unbelievers do
not carry out God's will.
On earth the name of
the devil is honored
by the unbelievers.
On earth there is the
kingdom of darkness
that is ruled by the
devil. Satan is the
prince of this world .
The whole world is
temporary under his evil
hands.
The purpose of God is
to have His will be
done on earth as it
is done in heaven.
In heaven God's holy
name is honored.
His holy name is
hallowed and His
will is done.
In heaven God's holy
name is praised.
We preached the Good News
of the Lord Jesus Christ
in order to deliver people
out of the evil hands
of the devil. Then the
saved folks may hallow
God's name and submit
themselves to God's will
and authority.
This will cause God's kingdom
to come to the
very earth that we now
stand in.
In the beginning God
charged the first man ,
Adam , to keep the garden
of Eden. This indicates
that there was an enemy
around.
The dominion that God
gave man was the
dominion that formerly
assigned to Lucifer
who later became
Satan.
Man is made out of the
dust of the earth.
And the serpent was cursed
to eat the dust all
the days of his life.
Thus man is under
the power of Satan.
The first man failed
to obey God.And the
first man Adam was defeated
by Satan. After his
fall from the grace of
God, the first man
was a slave of the devil.
So God raised up
the second man Christ
to overcome Satan.
The Lord Jesus Christ
redeemed us with
His precious blood.
Christ has done God's
will . The Lord Jesus
unites all the believers
who are saved
to Himself in order
that they may praise God,
do God's will, and
defeat Satan's kingdom.
When Jesus gave his
life on the cross ,
Jesus purchased our
salvation for us with
his precious blood.
Jesus made it possible
for us to reap the
blessings and promise
of God.
David is God's anointed
king . The Lord protects
David so that Jesus can
save the world. For God
so loved the world
so that whoever believes
in Him shall not perish
but have everlasting life.
David trusts in the Lord.
This day will the
LORD deliver thee into
mine hand;
and I will smite thee,
and take thine head
from thee;
and I will give the
carcases of the host of
the Philistines this
day unto the fowls of
the air, and to the
wild beasts of the earth;
that all the earth
may know that there is
a God in Israel.
And all this assembly
shall know that
the LORD saveth not
with sword and spear:
for the battle is the
LORD's, and he will
give you into our hands.
(1Sam 17:46-47)
And it came to pass,
when the Philistine arose,
and came and drew nigh
to meet David,
that David hasted, and
ran toward the army to
meet the Philistine.
And David put his hand
in his bag,
and took thence a stone,
and slang it, and smote
the Philistine
in his forehead, that
the stone
sunk into his forehead;
and he fell upon his
face to the earth.
(1Sam 17:48-49)
Thou sawest till that
a stone was cut
out without hands, which
smote the image
upon his feet that were
of iron and clay,
and brake them to pieces.
(Daniel 2:34)
The stone is the Lord
Jesus Christ.
So David prevailed over
the Philistine
with a sling and with
a stone, and smote
the Philistine, and
slew him; but there
was no sword in
the hand of David.
Therefore David ran,
and stood upon
the Philistine, and
took his sword, and drew
it out of the sheath
thereof, and slew him,
and cut off his head
therewith. And when
the Philistines saw their
champion was dead,
they fled.
( 1Sam 17:50-51)
See how frail life is ,
when a man thinks
himself best fortified
with brass armour
and mighty human strength.
Let not the strong man
boast in his
strength, nor in his
armour.
If any person is going
to boast, let
boast only of what
the Lord has done.
Only the Lord is
worthy to be glorified
and honoured.
Love not the world,
neither the things that
are in the world.
If any man love the
world,
the love of the Father
is not in him.
(1 John 2:15)
We are in the world,
but we are not
of the world.
For whatsoever is born
of God
overcometh the world
:
and this is the
victory that
overcometh the world,
even our faith.
(1 John 5:4)
David's faith enables
him to defeat
the giant enemy.
David has learned that
he could not
use the weapons of
the world to
fight the battle.
David has to use
his own weapons
that the Lord has
trained him to use.
The believers need to
recognize that
with faith in the Lord ,
they can
overcome the world.
When the Philistines saw
that their champion
was dead, they fled.
The victory belongs to
the Lord alone.
There is one war all
the believers must be
engaged.
There is one enemy more
formidable than Goliath.
This enemy , the devil
still challenges the
believers.
But resist the devil,
and he will flee from
you.
The Lord gave David
the victory. The Lord
delivers the giant into
David's hands
The battle was the Lord's.
Thou preparest a table
before me in the
presence of mine enemies:
thou anointest my head
with oil;
my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy
shall follow me
all the days of my life:
and I will dwell in
the house of
the LORD for ever.
(Ps 23:4-6)
Like David ,
we are not afraid
to face the giants.
The Lord Jesus Christ
is our Shepherd. The Lord
leads usd in the
path of righteousness,
for His name's sake.
His name is the Lord
Jesus Christ.
Jesus is the Messiah.
Yea, though I walk
through the valley of
the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil:
for thou art with me;
thy rod and thy staff
they comfort me.
...Death is swallowed up
in victory.
O death, where is thy sting?
O grave,
where is thy victory?
(1 Corinthians 15:54-55)
But thanks be to God,
which giveth us the
victory through
our Lord Jesus Christ.
Therefore, my beloved brethren,
be ye stedfast, unmoveable,
always abounding in the
work of the Lord,
forasmuch as ye know that
your labour is not in
vain in the Lord.
(1 Corinthians 15:57-58)
THE WAY
Jesus said,
I am the way ,
the truth,
and the life.
No man comes unto the
Father but by me.
David has faith in
the Lord Jesus Christ.
The Lord Jesus leads David
in the path of righteousness.
To be righteous before
God is to be accepted
by God.
God only respect the
Lord Jesus Christ.
David's righteousness is
the Lord Jesus Christ.
David gives all his
mind to the Lord
Jesus Christ. The Lord
Jesus Christ is the
Shepherd of David's mind.
David has the truth
in his heart.
Jesus is the Truth.
David has the Lord
Jesus Christ, the truth
in all his heart.
The Lord Jesus Christ
is the Shepherd of
all of David's heart.
David purposed in mind
to love the Lord Jesus
Christ with all his
mind.
David purposed in his
mind to love the Lord
Jesus Christ with all
his heart.
David purposed in his
soul to love the
Lord Jesus Christ with
all his soul.
And David love the
Lord Jesus Christ with
all his strength.
For God so loved the world,
that He gave His only
begotten Son,
that whosoever believes
in Him should
not perish, but have
everlasting life.
(John 3:16)
Thy word is a lamp unto
my feet, and a light unto
my path.
(Psalm 119:105)
If we have faith in
the Lord Jesus Christ,
then we have the
truth. And the truth
will make us free.
We will be free to love
according to God's love.
Christ will shine in
us to give light
to the world so
that our Lord God
will be glorified.
Jesus is the true
light that reveals
the true way for
us to love and live.
Whosoever follows Jesus shall
not walk in darkness, but
shall have the light of life.
We must let Christ shine
in our lives before the
world with the help of
the Holy Spirit so that
the world may see our
good works of love and
glorify God.
THE TRUTH
JESUS said,
It is written in the
Psalms concerning me
(Luke 24:44).
According to Jesus the Psalms
have prophesied of Him.
The Lord expressed some of
His deepest emotions in
the words of the Psalms.
TRUST IN THE LORD
Trust not in princes,
and man,where there
is no help.
Trust in the Lord.
Trust not in your own
understanding,
Put your trust in
the Lord.
David wrote for the
benefit of the believers.
Put not your trust in your
own understanding.
Put your trust in the
Lord.
Fear not .
The Lord will be with
you.
The Lord will be with
you in the valley
of the shadow of
Death.
The Lord will also
be with you when
you enter into the
spiritual war.
The Lord wants to
give you everlasting life.
For God so loved
the world that He
gave His only begotten
Son, so that whosoever
will believe in him
should not perish but
have everlasting life.
The Lord Jesus Christ
is leading the believers
in the path of
righteousness.
Thy word is a lamp unto
my feet, and a light unto
my path.
(Psalm 119:105)
For David, his Lord
Jesus Christ is his
Way.
For David, his Lord
Jesus Christ is his
Truth
For David, his Lord
Jesus Christ is his
life.
No man can come
unto God except by
the Lord Jesus Christ.
The Lord Jesus Christ
is life for the
believers.
Surely goodness and mercy
shall follow me
all the days of my life:
and I will dwell in
the house of
the LORD for ever.
(Ps 23:4-6)
